Emily has extensive training in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of pelvic health conditions across the lifespan. Her areas of focus include stress and urinary incontinence, prolapse management, bowel dysfunction, and perimenopausal symptom management. She has a particular interest in working with individuals with hypermobility disorders (HSD, EDS), as well as those navigating prenatal and postpartum rehabilitation, including strength training and return-to-sport guidance. Emily also has experience treating endometriosis, adenomyosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), dyspareunia, and chronic pelvic pain.
Emily practices from an evidence-informed, whole-person (biopsychosocial) perspective, recognizing that each individual’s experience is unique. She takes a highly personalized approach to care, developing treatment plans that align with each patient’s goals, lifestyle, and needs.
With a background as an exercise therapist and a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta, Emily brings a strong movement-focused approach to rehabilitation. She is also trained in functional dry needling, which she integrates thoughtfully as part of a broader treatment plan, alongside exercise retraining to support optimal outcomes.
Education is a cornerstone of Emily’s practice. She is passionate about empowering patients with knowledge and practical strategies to support long-term, sustainable results. She regularly presents for organizations such as Move Your Mood, local women’s conferences, Grow Kids (formerly Go Girl), and other community groups.
In recent years, Emily has partnered on research initiatives with the University of Alberta focused on improving pelvic health care in rural communities, and she hopes to continue contributing to this important work.
